Crate Paper Is In Da' House!

Are you all ready for this?! One of the hottest new lines at CHA comes from a little company called Crate Paper. It's a small line that packs a punch. There are two lucious lines one in the teals, oranges and browns palette called Static. Surfobards, Guitars and Skulls make up some of the fun and funky images on this paper. The other line is in the pinks, purpoles and greens palettes and is quite appropriately called Kaitlin. The printed cardstock is double-sided and is fantastic. Here, take a look for yourself:June2008blog_017 June2008blog_018

We told you all about the new Euphoria from Basic Grey last time. Take a look-see at the lovely colors and designs included in this line.

June08_classes_fday_015 New Petaloo flowers are bloomin about. Then around the bend you'll see Old Guys Rule, a sassy new collection for the older men in our lives. And you won't want to miss the new acrylic stamps from Around the Block.June08_classes_fday_024

COME BEAT THE HEAT AND ENJOY A LITTLE CREATIVE ESCAPE!!!

New Basic Grey, Allison Kreft and A Treasure Hunt to L.A.

Eurphoria: n. The tremendous feeling of satisfaction and joy that comes when opening boxes of new scrapbooking product.

And this is exactly how we felt today opening all the new Basic Grey, aptly titled Euphoria. This mid-season release is fun and playful and is designed with bright pinks and lime greens. The rub-ons and chipboard and oh-so-popular collection packs are sure to go fast. So grab your sneakers and Starbucks and run over to catch some before it's gone!

Talent: n. Skill, natural ability, possessed by an individual whom you admire and who inspires you.

This is the word I think of when I think of Allison Kreft...a talented lady who will be flying in from the bay area this weekend. We are so lucky to have this huge talent back at Ever After. She has transformed the look of an entire sticker company and made it one of the coolest, hippest on the block. Don't miss out...her class has a few spots left. Can't make the class? You can purchase the kit over the phone. Plus, she's bringing tons of new Hambly with her. She'll show you how to use those wonderful Clearly Heavy Overlays and the new Paper Gator. A not-to-be missed event...this Saturday, 1-3 only.

Adventure: n. A search for new things, new places, new people; finding excitement in the ordinary; making the everyday extraordinary.

And we're off tomorrow in seach of treasure in downtown Los Angeles. We'll be searching for paper crafting doodads and sparkle aplenty. We're sure to bring back some terrific loot.

Don't Miss Out...THERE'S LOADS OF NEW PRODUCT ALREADY AT THE STORE.

The new Creative Imaginations is way cool...so many fun lines including Marah Johnson's new Asian Fusion, the signature brand Old Guys Rule (it's hilarious...a must see), new Disney/Magic flavored paper and embellies and a tropical line from Christine Adolph that's sure to go fast.

Plus, new double-sided glitter papers, new travel, new acrylic stamps, and new patriotic. In fact, there's new paper in just about every themed department. So grab a girlfriend or two and carpool over. Better yet, spend the day scrappin' with us...escape the heat of one of the hottest days of the year so far. Heck, stay until midnight and join us for our Moonlight Crop starting at 6 p.m. We'll be looking for you!

Until then, happy almost first day of Summer...

The EA Gang

p.s. Did you all see that moon last night? So amazing! Love that summer solstice.

A Most Worthy Event for a Beautiful Family: June 28th!

"Welcome Home Papa…USMC"

As I drove in this morning, I saw this message written on the back of a vehicle in our parking lot. It made me smile and I felt tremendous pride in our country…that we are blessed to have men and women who fight for our freedoms.

It was somewhat bittersweet for me, though. You see I spent the night before getting to know Jana Pierce, recently widowed after losing her husband to pancreatic cancer just two months ago. GySGT Troy Pierce had valiantly fought over in Iraq, only to come home and face his most difficult battle, cancer. Having been misdiagnosed for months, this hero finally succumbed to cancer. His family now faces insurmountable medical expenses.

Since the scrapbooking community is a tight-knit one, the idea of the Pierce Family Fundraiser was born. Enter designer and teacher Candice Mclean, Scrapbook Royalty and Ever After Scrapbooks. Together we are working on one amazing event that we want you to be a part of. Even if you can’t make the entire 12-hour event, we’d still love for you to come and bid on the silent auction items, enjoy a make-n-take or two and encourage this beautiful family.

   Pierce20flyer_med

Mstgs_pierce_07Mstgs_pierce

GySgt Troy Pierce USMC Ret passed away on April 7, 2008 after gallantly fighting pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his lovely bride and high school sweetheart, Jana Pierce, along with their two children Heather Pierce – Prather and Trey Pierce.

GySgt Pierce served 22 years in the US Marine Corps and upon his retirement from the Marine Corps in 2005, he was experiencing medical symptoms of pancreatic cancer, but he was never properly diagnosed. For seven months, Troy underwent extensive testing and unfortunately a confirmed diagnosis was not determinable. In April of 2007, Troy was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and underwent surgery immediately to remove a malignant tumor. After surgery, he received 8 months of chemotherapy and 6 weeks of radiation. The Pierce family thought the worse was over. Unfortunately, in January of 2008, Troy began to experience similar symptoms. After exploratory surgery, the worse news was delivered. The cancer had returned and even worse, it had spread. The doctors gave Troy Pierce 3 to 6 months to live. On April 7, 2008, Troy passed away at home with his wife, family and closest friends by his side.

GySgt Pierce was an outstanding Marine who served his country diligently with Jana always by his side. He is most remembered by his peers for being a loyal and caring friend. He treated everyone with respect and kindness, and his memory will live on through all who knew him and called him friend.

Jana has asked for nothing. The Marines and friends who know the Pierce’s have all come together to support our extended family – that is the way of the Corps. Semper Fidelis – Always Loyal. We are dedicated to helping the Pierce Family like many other military families, and our goal today is to help Jana and Troy’s children continue their education and to help Jana with the costly medical expenses she is still burdened with.

It is through our community and gracious donors that we can support and help our military members and families through difficult and chaotic times. We thank you in advance for your compassion and generosity.

Thank you on behalf of the Pierce family and the wives of 3rd AABN.

SCRAPBOOKERS AND PAPER CRAFTERS UNITE FOR THIS AWESOME CAUSE. 100% of the funds from this event will go to the Pierce family. The Silent Auction items are fantastic, we'll be raffling off some amazing items, including a handmade canvas MADE BY THE ONE AND ONLY ALI EDWARDS. Plus, we've heard Scrapbook Megastar Emily Falconbridge will join us for a make-n-take. Call the store for details or better yet, go to www.scrapbookroyalty.com to sign up for this fantastic event.

More Ever After News tomorrow...stay tuned.
